Case Description
I am trying to help my brother determine his options for dental care. He is a young man in his 20s but has extremely significant tooth decay. As far as I can tell, from what little consultation he has been provided by a local dentist, his teeth are beyond repair. He has very little means to pay for extensive dental care and I would like to do whatever I can to assist him in finding the best option to get him in a state of comfort (due to the severe decay he is in a lot of pain). I would appreciate any ideas on options& I have looked through some examples of fees associated with Dentures and am unsure what the prices include& for example a price is given for full dentures at $900.00& does this cover only the actual dentures or does this include the removal of teeth in order to be ready to utilize the dentures. I also worry that if we find a dentist who is cheep that the quality of service may be poor and Ive head that it can be very painful when adjusting to dentures even if they are a good fit& Hes been through enough already and I want to do whatever I can to make sure that not only we find a way to get his teeth fixed but also that he is treated kindly, and gets optimal care. If anyone has any insight that might help me with this I would genuinely be so grateful. doraboyd@hotmail.com

Are You This Patient?
When selecting a new doctor, consider the following:
Quality of Explanations: Compare dentist replies. Give preference to well-reasoned, detail-oriented, transparent explanations.
Experience & Qualifications: If a dentist has a practice listing, check their practice description,
special training, typical office procedures and before & after case photographs.
Other Patients' Freedback: If a dentist has reviews, read other patients' reviews. The more
reviews they have, the more likely it is that other patients' feeback is accurate.
Treatment Costs: Dental procedure costs vary from practice to practice and depend on a variety of factors.
Because quality of patient care and treatment results vary from practice to practice most dentists will not "price-match" treatment fees of others.

Sounds like a difficult situation. You have great questions, beyond what I can fully adress here.If his teeth are infected, then yes he probably ought to have teeth out. If It''''s bad decay, then there are options. Since he is SO young, these are lifelong decisions.I would have to either speak with you for a few minutes or have him in to the office to examine fully.Happy to help!
