Case Description
Have avoided dentists in general -- acute anxiety, especially with the lying back in the chair. Feels like pressure on my tooth; some pain off and on last several months. Similar situation on left side of mouth years ago which required crown. Was not pleased with that experience. Thanks for any help.

Are You This Patient?
When selecting a new doctor, consider the following:
Quality of Explanations: Compare dentist replies. Give preference to well-reasoned, detail-oriented, transparent explanations.
Experience & Qualifications: If a dentist has a practice listing, check their practice description,
special training, typical office procedures and before & after case photographs.
Other Patients' Freedback: If a dentist has reviews, read other patients' reviews. The more
reviews they have, the more likely it is that other patients' feeback is accurate.
Treatment Costs: Dental procedure costs vary from practice to practice and depend on a variety of factors.
Because quality of patient care and treatment results vary from practice to practice most dentists will not "price-match" treatment fees of others.

Anxiety is the number one reason why people avoid the dentist. You are not alone. Fortunately, we are very experienced in dealing with people "who hate the dentist". We offer all levels of sedation from gas, to a pill, to dentistry while you sleep. If we can be of any assistance, give my office manager Martha a call 303 988 6110. She will be able to help you with any questions.Warmest regards,Dr. Guy Grabiak

Sounds like you have a few concerns that should be talked through BEFORE starting any work. Sounds like you''''''''ve had some bad experiences in the past. To help things go the smoothest for you in the future you will want to have clear communication with your new dentist about exactly what concerns you, and what your expectations are. Also there is more than one way to "crown" a tooth. Maybe an alternative (like an "onlay") could work better for you. Don''''''''t delay, as I saw a young man this morning who had to lose his tooth, because the crack went too far in the tooth. (Check my links if you need other information)

Hello!I am so sorry to hear of your bad experience in the past. Our office caters specifically to patients with dental fears, and we''''re very gentle and patient. If you''''d like to have us evaluate that tooth that''''s been hurting, I''''d be happy to do so at your convenience, and if it looks like the tooth needs a crown, we can let you know what to expect in terms of cost/time/etc. We can also manage anxiety through laughing gas or oral medications that will help to alleviate some of those problems. There are multiple things that can cause the symptoms you''''re describing, so it would be difficult to evaluate your tooth without seeing your first, but I''''d sure be hapy to discuss this more with you! You can call our office at (303) 693-1215, or you can visit us on the web at www.summerbrookdental.com. Looking forward to hearing from you!Dr. Jim Craig

I''''m sorry for the delay, but I''''m new to DrOogle and didn''''t get your message until recently.I am an orthodontist, only doing braces and Invisalign. You will need to see a General Dentist for your aching tooth. Stephen L. Carter
