Case Description
Hi, I am having some serious problems with my teeth and Have a very "Low" income status at this time, but I am in a lot of pain and need help! . Due to very poor maintanance of my teeth through childhood, from low calcium issues during 2 pregnancy's, and too, from other poor choices that I had made in my past, my teeth are in incredibly aweful shape. I have already lost my two eye teeth on my upper jaw (in which looks terrible) and I have also lost all my molars on the right upper. I have 9 teeth left in my upper now, and they are falling apart. I Need Help! It was only about 4 months ago that I had to have my last emergency abstraction, and had a terrible experience with the dentist that I saw. He was very rough and brutal with me as he had a hell of a time getting the tooth to come out and after it was pulled I experienced "hold my face and cry pain" that lasted for almost a month after the abstraction. Also on-going ever since that abstraction, I have had problems with my sinuses. Just the other day I went to have another evaluarion from a different dentist to get a second opinion about what options I have as to what can be done to fix my teeth. During this second evaluation, this dentist said that from looking at the new x-rays he had taken, that they show that my sinus cavity sits very low and that from the last abstraction the other dentist had done, there is damage done to my sinus cavity that I will be needing to see a different kind of doctor for. ( Specialist reconsructive, surgical doctor that also handles medical treatment for sinuses.) From both dentists advice and opinions, as for my teeth, I am probably looking at needing to have all of the remaining teeth in my upper jaw removed and having a partial made. It might be possible to save some of the teeth I have left, but the cost it would take to do so would be incredibly expensive. As I said, I am basically homeless at this time and have very little income. I can not afford the costs for treatment My need for treatment is obviously a manditory must, and I dont know what to do or where to go. "Please Help!"

Are You This Patient?
When selecting a new doctor, consider the following:
Quality of Explanations: Compare dentist replies. Give preference to well-reasoned, detail-oriented, transparent explanations.
Experience & Qualifications: If a dentist has a practice listing, check their practice description,
special training, typical office procedures and before & after case photographs.
Other Patients' Freedback: If a dentist has reviews, read other patients' reviews. The more
reviews they have, the more likely it is that other patients' feeback is accurate.
Treatment Costs: Dental procedure costs vary from practice to practice and depend on a variety of factors.
Because quality of patient care and treatment results vary from practice to practice most dentists will not "price-match" treatment fees of others.

Karina-I am sympathetic to your plea for help. Due to the severity of your case, I am not sure how much we could help you but would like to offer some assistance if possible. I would suggest trying to contact the Colorado Dental Association or Metropolitan Denver Dental Society at 303-488-9700. Due to your financial status, they may be able to put you on a list and much, if not all of your dental needs may be taken care of for free or at little cost or may be able to put you in contact with doctors that may be able to help you. We currently participate in this program and currently are working on a couple of cases. I wish you luck in your search. You might also try one of the dental schools. The cost is significantly lower than most dental offices.
